About the ECW

Uniting all Women
The Episcopal Church Women (ECW) is an organization within St. Mark's Church that unites all women through worship, study, service and fellowship. Each woman of every age is automatically a member of our ECW as a member of St. Mark's Church and welcome to participate in all of its programs. There are no dues and meetings are held monthly at different times and places to accommodate different women's schedules. ECW meetings revolve around a variety of topics such as spiritual growth, ethics, personal wellness and health.
The National Board of the ECW exists to support all women in their Mission and Ministry in the World. Their vision is for all women of the Episcopal Church to become a vibrant blend of all ages, coming together as a peacemaking, healing part of the Church. The National ECW logo summarizes the essence of the ECW. "The Cross represents Christ and our service to Him in the World. The Circle stands for our hope for wholeness in our lives. The outflowing lines from the center depict the many works of the Episcopal Church Women, going out into the world. The intertwined lines represent our lives centered in Christ." More information about the National Board of the ECW can be found at www.ECUSA.Anglican.org/ECW

Fun Supportive Fellowship
The ECW at St. Mark's strives to bring our women together in a fun supportive fellowship. We work for the betterment of our Botetourt community, our church and God's work. We take field trips, help the men's group in their annual spaghetti fundraiser, support our youth group, the altar guild, women's shelters, Botetourt Community Services, our weekly coffee hour after church, mission trips, and physical church improvements, to name a few. Through our fundraising efforts, which have included yard sales, bake sales, and now the use of a Kroger Gift card, St. Mark's ECW is able to contribute to various outreach programs, social service agencies, and programs within our church.
